Welcome to Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District Website
The
Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District was created by a special
act of the Florida Legislature in 1974 for the purpose of providing
outstanding public beaches and parks for local residents. The District
includes the land in the southeastern corner of Palm Beach County, east
of the Florida Turnpike and south of Clint Moore Road, including all of
the City of Boca Raton.
The District
is governed by a five-member, elected Board of Commissioners. The Board
regularly meets on the first and third Mondays of each month in the
community center at Sugar Sand Park at 4:00 p.m. All meetings are open
to the public, and participation is encouraged.
The
Board has the authority to levy up to 2 mills of taxes on the value of
real and personal property within its boundaries. The taxable property
within the district is valued at $18 billion. The tax rate levied by
the District for 2003 is $1.0363 per $1,000 of taxable value, which
generated $17 million in operating revenue.
For
further information about the District and its various activities,

center at Sugar Sand Park, 300 South Military Trail, Boca Raton,
Florida 33486. The telephone number is 561-417-4599.
